E Aaadhaar Card is a valid proof of identity, and since it carries digital signature, it is considered at par with the Aadhaar letter sent to your postal address.
Hence if you ever find yourself needing your Aadhaar card on immediate basis, you can generate your E Aadhaar Card online and use it as and where required.

Note:- To download E Aadhaar Card, you should have registered your mobile number with UIDAI. This can be done either by entering your mobile number in the Aadhaar enrollment form, at the time of enrollment itself, or at later stage by updating your Aadhaar Card with your mobile number.
How to Download E Aadhaar Card
- E Aadhaar Card can be downloaded from the UIDAI website https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
- You must have your acknowledgement slip or your Aadhar card number , and the mobile number which you have given at the time of enrollment.
Step 1: Open the site – https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
Step 2: Choose whether you have your Enrollment ID or Aadhaar Card number
Step 3: Enter the following details
- Your personal details.
- Your Aadhar Number /Enrolment ID
- Full Name
- Pin code
- Security Code
- Mobile number provided by you at the time of enrollment.
After entering the details click on the ‘Get One Time Password’ button
Step 4: Enter the OTP received on your mobile, and click on the ‘Validate & Download’ button. Your E Adhaar Card will be downloaded
Step 5: Click on the downloaded file to open it. This will be password protected. The Pin code provided by you in your address is the password to open this document. Enter the pin code and click on ‘Ok’. Your E Adhaar Card will be displayed.
